Looking for a breath of fresh air? Join Sport of Life Inc. for a quick trip just north of the city to Dixon Meadow Preserve! A haven for birders, walkers and those who enjoy the area’s natural flora and fauna, the preserve is sure to have spring in full swing for those seeking a dose of nature.
Program Manager Troy Bynum is not only an enthusiastic birder, but also a passionate wildlife photographer from Philadelphia, PA. Troy’s work focuses on capturing and showcasing the remarkable colors, intricate patterns, and rich textures that are abundant throughout the natural world. Troy will lead the group on a bird walk before lunch (provided courtesy of the Whitemarsh Foundation!) and a watershed walk to conclude the trip.
Start time: 10AM sharp and return around 3:30PM.
Meeting Location: The bus will depart from KIPP Philadelphia Elementary Academy (2409 W. Westmoreland Street Philadelphia, PA 19129)
Note: Due to the limited parking at Dixon Meadow Preserve, participants MUST register to secure their place on the bus (please do NOT drive your own vehicle to the destination). Registration space is limited to the first 30 persons registered. Please only register if you are sure you can make it so as not to take another family’s spot!
