CANCELED – Archery (Mini-Session) & OYO Adventurewoods Trail Explore

Due to minimum number of registrations not being met, we have canceled this program.

Join us for an 11:30am Archery mini-session lesson during Let’s Go Outdoors’ “Drop-In Archery” program at Awbury Recreation Center.  Starts promptly at 11:30am.  You’ll have fun learning how to SAFELY use a bow and arrow to shoot a target.

This is NOT a full archery lesson – it is a mini-lesson experience allowing participants to try archery. Your full time for archery will be 15-20 minutes, depending on the number of people registered, learning level of participants, and/or those waiting ahead of you.  You will be led through safety instructions and brief archery technique(s) to then have the opportunity to shoot 5-8 arrows.  NOTE:  It is STRONGLY ENCOURAGED that participants be aged 10 years or older.

Please keep in mind that this is NOT an archery session for groups of people and/or organizations.  It is geared for families, who will participate together.  We ask that if you register, the participant numbers be up to 2 adults and up to 3 kids.  We understand that families may run larger, and if this is the case please contact us at (866)878-3595, ext. 701, so we can plan accordingly.  Parents/caregivers are expected to support their kid(s) during the archery mini-session, if needed.

After the archery mini-session, attendees can take part in an On-Your-Own (OYO) Adventurewoods Trail exploration, located across the street from the Recreation Center.  Adventurewoods is a free outdoor/nature space located at Awbury Arboretum, which has trails, a basic zipline, rock climbing wall, along with numerous nature playscape materials for young ones to let their imaginations run wild.  After the archery mini-session, our Educator will direct participants to the Adventurewoods entrance, should you wish to explore on your own.
