DESCRIPTION:Join us as we explore Awbury’s Adventurewoods\, which is a free outdoor/nature space located at Awbury Arboretum. As we walk the trail\, we’ll provide some scavenger hunt fun and opportunity to seek out wildlife and possibly do some birding.  Once we get to the open playscape area of Adventurewoods\, we’ll provide a craft activity for kiddos.  In between crafts and exploration\, kiddos can enjoy the  basic zipline\, rock climbing wall\, and numerous nature materials to let their imaginations run wild. \nStart Time:  11:00am (Please be on-time\, since we cannot guarantee waiting for late attendees.) \nRegistration:  Strongly suggested\, since that allows us to contact registrants with changes and/or questions.  Should you have any issues registering\, please contact us at 866-878-3595. \nMeeting Location: CURBSIDE at Awbury’s Adventurewoods streetside entrance\, 6060 Ardleigh St.\, Philadelphia\, PA. SUMMARY:Nature Scavenger Hunt in FDR Park\, Philadelphia
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a family-friendly walk and nature scavenger hunt in FDR Park! Take a slow stroll around the lake\, say hello to the winter wildlife\, and play some winter games. \nThis walk will be 1.5 miles\, about a half hour walk on a flat\, paved path. The path is stroller-friendly\, however be prepared for snow\, cracked pavement\, leaves and rocks. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Restrooms are available near the meeting location. \nBe prepared for the weather and wet surfaces with proper shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. \nRegistrants will be emailed exact location details in the days leading up to the outing. \nTransportation:\nParking is available onsite; this location is also public transit accessible via the Broad Street Line or several buses.

SUMMARY:CANCELED - Archery (Mini-Session) & OYO Adventurewoods Trail Explore
DESCRIPTION:Due to minimum number of registrations not being met\, we have canceled this program. \nJoin us for an 11:30am Archery mini-session lesson during Let’s Go Outdoors’ “Drop-In Archery” program at Awbury Recreation Center.  Starts promptly at 11:30am.  You’ll have fun learning how to SAFELY use a bow and arrow to shoot a target. \nThis is NOT a full archery lesson – it is a mini-lesson experience allowing participants to try archery. Your full time for archery will be 15-20 minutes\, depending on the number of people registered\, learning level of participants\, and/or those waiting ahead of you.  You will be led through safety instructions and brief archery technique(s) to then have the opportunity to shoot 5-8 arrows.  NOTE:  It is STRONGLY ENCOURAGED that participants be aged 10 years or older. \nPlease keep in mind that this is NOT an archery session for groups of people and/or organizations.  It is geared for families\, who will participate together.  We ask that if you register\, the participant numbers be up to 2 adults and up to 3 kids.  We understand that families may run larger\, and if this is the case please contact us at (866)878-3595\, ext. 701\, so we can plan accordingly.  Parents/caregivers are expected to support their kid(s) during the archery mini-session\, if needed. \nAfter the archery mini-session\, attendees can take part in an On-Your-Own (OYO) Adventurewoods Trail exploration\, located across the street from the Recreation Center.  Adventurewoods is a free outdoor/nature space located at Awbury Arboretum\, which has trails\, a basic zipline\, rock climbing wall\, along with numerous nature playscape materials for young ones to let their imaginations run wild.  After the archery mini-session\, our Educator will direct participants to the Adventurewoods entrance\, should you wish to explore on your own. \nStart Time:  11:30am (Please be on-time\, since we cannot guarantee waiting for late attendees.) \nRegistration:  REQUIRED\, for this program.  Should you have any issues registering\, please contact us at 866-878-3595. \nMeeting Location: Awbury Recreation Center\, 6101 Ardleigh St.\, Philadelphia\, PA.
