DESCRIPTION:Summer is here\, though ending next month… so\, if you haven’t already take time for a hike\, especially one that ends at a sprayground site! \nJoin us for an easy/moderate hike\, along the Houston Meadow Trail\, which will get the heart pumping\, as well as kiddos moving\, giving a feeling of energy\, warmth\, and activity.  If that doesn’t work for getting warmed-up\, the hike ends at an awesome playground site\, where kids can be active and run about like it’s a hot summer day.   \nALSO\, if it is hot out\, there’s a sprayground at the Houston Rec Center\, where the hike ends\, which can help kiddos\, and adults too\, cool down.  (NOTE: Sprayground water turn-on is done by the City of Philadelphia\, and/or the Rec Center\, so we can’t guarantee whether it will be on or not\, but it’s likely to be on\, based on this time of year.) \nTo Be Clear: The hike start is NOT where the hike ends\, though we will only be about a 10-minute sidewalk/paved walk from where the hike ends. \nTRAIL/HIKE DETAILS\nThis is an easy/slightly moderate hike along varied dirt\, rock\, grassy\, and gravel terrain. DESCRIPTION:This event has been canceled. \nSummer is here… time for a hike! \nJoin us for an easy/moderate hike\, along the Houston Meadow Trail\, which will get the heart pumping\, as well as kiddos moving\, giving a feeling of energy\, warmth\, and activity.  If that doesn’t work for getting warmed-up\, the hike ends at an awesome playground site\, where kids can be active and run about like it’s a hot summer day.   \nALSO\, if it is hot out\, there’s a sprayground at the Houston Rec Center\, where the hike ends\, which can help kiddos\, and adults too\, cool down.  (NOTE: Sprayground water turn-on is done by the City of Philadelphia\, and/or the Rec Center\, so we can’t guarantee whether it will be on or not\, but it’s likely to be on\, based on this time of year.) \nTo Be Clear: The hike start is NOT where the hike ends\, though we will only be about a 10-minute sidewalk/paved walk from where the hike ends. \nTRAIL/HIKE DETAILS\nThis is an easy/slightly moderate hike along varied dirt\, rock\, grassy\, and gravel terrain. There are some slopes and inclines. It is NOT stroller-friendly and takes at least 30-50 minutes to complete. DESCRIPTION:Join us as we start out with a fun nature scavenger hunt to engage the kiddos in some outdoor curiosity exploration\, and then we’ll take a short easy hike along the nature loop trail to keep an eye and ear out for birds.  After our fun on the loop\, we’ll wrap-up with a create/decorate a decorative birdhouse activity\, which kiddos can to take home and enjoy. \nStart Time: 11:00am (we cannot guarantee waiting for late comers) \nMeet Location:  Wissahickon Environmental Center (also known as\, “The Tree House”).  The Tree House will NOT be open\, though waiting in the vicinity of the parking lot\, near the Tree House\, or on the porch of the Tree House is fine. \nRegistration:  Strongly suggested\, since registering allows us to share last-minute cancelation and/or change in programming details with you.  Should you have any issues registering\, please contact us at 866-878-3595. \nSuggested Parking: Park in the upper lot\, located at 990 W.
