SUMMARY:Fall (Kid-Friendly) Hike to Playground Site
DESCRIPTION:It’s Fall and what better way to get in gear than taking a hike.  Enjoy an easy/moderate hike along the Houston Meadow Trail ending at Houston Recreation Center’s awesome playground!  If you’ve done this hike before\, consider doing it again\, since it looks different in every season. \nThe hike start is NOT where the hike ends\, though we will only be about a 10-minute sidewalk/paved walk from where the hike ends.  Parents/Caregivers are also able to finish the hike\, then drive to where the playground is located. \nTRAIL/HIKE DETAILS\nThis is an easy/slightly moderate hike along varied dirt\, rock\, grassy\, gravel terrain. There are some slopes and inclines and takes at least 30-50 minutes to complete\, based on the level and interests of participants. There are NO bathroom facilities\, so plan accordingly.  This is NOT a stroller accessible trail. \nSTART TIME:  The hike will start promptly at the following times: 11 am (We cannot guarantee waiting for late-comers. We’ll play some rounds of Simon Says\, making sure to incorporate some nature-themed poses\, then a round or two of BINGO\, and then to top things off\, we’ll offer kiddos a chance to get creative with a spring themed craft. \nKids in attendance can use our loaner kid-friendly binoculars to stroll about the Cobbs Creek trail(s)\, with their parent/guardian\, to possibly see some birds that reside in/around the area.  If all the active play\, birding\, and/or craft aren’t enough\, kids can continue the warmth of play by enjoying time at the playground. \nStart Time: 11:00am \nMeeting Location: Please meet in the vicinity of the Cobbs Creek Nature Playground\, 700 Cobbs Creek Parkway\, Philadelphia\, PA. DESCRIPTION:This event has been canceled. \nSpring is here!  Let’s spring into gear with a kid-friendly hike… \nJoin us for an easy/moderate hike\, along the Houston Meadow Trail\, which will get the heart pumping\, as well as kiddos moving\, giving a feeling of energy\, warmth\, and activity.  If that doesn’t work for getting warmed-up\, the hike ends at an awesome playground site\, where kids can be active and run about like it’s a hot summer day. \nTo Be Clear: The hike start is NOT where the hike ends\, though we will only be about a 10-minute sidewalk/paved walk from where the hike ends. \nTRAIL/HIKE DETAILS\nThis is an easy/slightly moderate hike along varied dirt\, rock\, grassy\, and gravel terrain. There are some slopes and inclines. It is NOT stroller-friendly and takes at least 30-50 minutes to complete. There are NO bathroom facilities\, so plan accordingly.  This is NOT a stroller-accessible trail and does involve walking up/down hills and traveling on varied terrain – soil\, mulch\, grass\, pavement\, etc. \nMEETING ADDRESS:  991 East Cathedral Rd.\, Philadelphia\, PA (This is NOT a building\, but a tree lined street – trailhead starting point.) \nREGISTRATION:  Strongly suggested\, since registering allows us to share last-minute cancelation and/or change in programming details with you.  Should you have any issues registering\, please contact us at 866-878-3595. \nSTART TIME(S):  The hike will start promptly at 11AM (We cannot guarantee waiting for late-comers.
