DESCRIPTION:This event has been canceled. \nWe’re 4 days away from the start of Fall and what better way to get in gear than taking a hike.  Enjoy an easy/moderate hike along the Houston Meadow Trail ending at Houston Recreation Center’s awesome playground! \nThe hike start is NOT where the hike ends\, though we will only be about a 10-minute sidewalk/paved walk from where the hike ends.  Parents/Caregivers are also able to finish the hike\, then drive to where the playground is located. \nTRAIL/HIKE DETAILS\nThis is an easy/slightly moderate hike along varied dirt\, rock\, grassy\, gravel terrain. There are some slopes and inclines and takes at least 30-50 minutes to complete\, based on the level and interests of participants. There are NO bathroom facilities\, so plan accordingly.  This is NOT a stroller accessible trail. \nSTART TIME:  The hike will start promptly at the following times: 11 am (We cannot guarantee waiting for late-comers. SUMMARY:Fall (Kid-Friendly) Hike to Playground Site
DESCRIPTION:It’s Fall and what better way to get in gear than taking a hike.  Enjoy an easy/moderate hike along the Houston Meadow Trail ending at Houston Recreation Center’s awesome playground!  If you’ve done this hike before\, consider doing it again\, since it looks different in every season. \nThe hike start is NOT where the hike ends\, though we will only be about a 10-minute sidewalk/paved walk from where the hike ends.  Parents/Caregivers are also able to finish the hike\, then drive to where the playground is located. \nTRAIL/HIKE DETAILS\nThis is an easy/slightly moderate hike along varied dirt\, rock\, grassy\, gravel terrain. There are some slopes and inclines and takes at least 30-50 minutes to complete\, based on the level and interests of participants. There are NO bathroom facilities\, so plan accordingly.  This is NOT a stroller accessible trail. \nSTART TIME:  The hike will start promptly at the following times: 11 am (We cannot guarantee waiting for late-comers. SUMMARY:Archery (Mini-Session) & November Harvest Fest
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an Archery mini-session lesson during Let’s Go Outdoors’ “Drop-In Archery” program happening during Original American Foundation’s November Harvest Fest. You’ll have fun learning how to SAFELY use a bow and arrow to shoot a target. \nThis is NOT a full archery lesson – it is a mini-lesson experience allowing participants to try archery. Your full time for archery will be 15-20 minutes\, depending on the number of people registered\, learning level of participants\, and/or time of arrival of you/participants.  You will be led through safety instructions and brief archery technique(s) to then have the opportunity to shoot 5-8 arrows.  NOTE:  It is STRONGLY ENCOURAGED that participants be aged 10 years or older. \nPlease keep in mind that this is NOT an archery session for groups of people and/or organizations.  It is geared for families\, who will participate together.  We ask that if you register\, the participant numbers be up to 2 adults and up to 3 kids.  We understand that families may run larger\, and if this is the case please contact us at (866)878-3595\, ext. 701\, so we can plan accordingly.  Parents/caregivers are expected to support their kid(s) during the archery mini-session\, if needed. \nAfter (or before) the archery mini-session\, attendees can take part in Original American Foundation’s November Harvest Fest\, celebrating culture\, community\, and crops.
