SUMMARY:Leaves of Fun: Boardwalk Loop\, Tree ID\, & Leaf-Etching (@ Heinz)
DESCRIPTION:It’s the FALL season\, so the leaves are changing color and drifting to the ground!  ALSO\, it may seem like wildlife is starting to hide\, but wait\, maybe we’ll spot animals that enjoy the Fall season\, as we travel along the scenic Boardwalk Trail Loop at John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge! \nAs we walk along the trail\, we’ll see what we see\, hear sounds of nature\, and maybe identify some of the leaves beneath our feet or trees that grow tall around us.  Upon finishing our leisurely nature walk\, we’ll take time for some decorative fun.  Kids will receive blank paper note-cards to create a personalized card using our leaf etchings and crayons. \nStart Time: 11am (If you arrive late\, you may miss the scenic trail stroll along the boardwalk loop.) \nRegistration:  Strongly suggested\, since registering allows us to share last-minute cancelation and/or change in programming details with you.  Should you have any issues registering\, please contact us at 866-878-3595. \nMeet Location:  In the vicinity of the Visitor Center entrance.  Look for a Let’s Go Outdoors Educator.  If you don’t see them\, please contact us at 866-878-3595.

SUMMARY:Archery (Mini-Session) & November Harvest Fest
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an Archery mini-session lesson during Let’s Go Outdoors’ “Drop-In Archery” program happening during Original American Foundation’s November Harvest Fest. You’ll have fun learning how to SAFELY use a bow and arrow to shoot a target. \nThis is NOT a full archery lesson – it is a mini-lesson experience allowing participants to try archery. Your full time for archery will be 15-20 minutes\, depending on the number of people registered\, learning level of participants\, and/or time of arrival of you/participants.  You will be led through safety instructions and brief archery technique(s) to then have the opportunity to shoot 5-8 arrows.  NOTE:  It is STRONGLY ENCOURAGED that participants be aged 10 years or older. \nPlease keep in mind that this is NOT an archery session for groups of people and/or organizations.  It is geared for families\, who will participate together.  We ask that if you register\, the participant numbers be up to 2 adults and up to 3 kids.  We understand that families may run larger\, and if this is the case please contact us at (866)878-3595\, ext. 701\, so we can plan accordingly.  Parents/caregivers are expected to support their kid(s) during the archery mini-session\, if needed. \nAfter (or before) the archery mini-session\, attendees can take part in Original American Foundation’s November Harvest Fest\, celebrating culture\, community\, and crops.
