DESCRIPTION:This program has been canceled. \nSpring is here!  Let’s spring into gear with a kid-friendly hike… \nJoin us for an easy/moderate hike\, along the Houston Meadow Trail\, which will get the heart pumping\, as well as kiddos moving\, giving a feeling of energy\, warmth\, and activity.  If that doesn’t work for getting warmed-up\, the hike ends at an awesome playground site\, where kids can be active and run about like it’s a hot summer day. \nTo Be Clear: The hike start is NOT where the hike ends\, though we will only be about a 10-minute sidewalk/paved walk from where the hike ends. \nTRAIL/HIKE DETAILS\nThis is an easy/slightly moderate hike along varied dirt\, rock\, grassy\, and gravel terrain. There are some slopes and inclines. It is NOT stroller-friendly and takes at least 30-50 minutes to complete. DESCRIPTION:Join Hiking Hound Adventures\, LLC for a free\, family-friendly Kids Nature Walk designed to get children excited about the outdoors. This guided walk will explore local trails while introducing basic nature observation skills\, encouraging curiosity about plants\, wildlife\, and the environment. The program is designed to be fun\, engaging\, and accessible for all experience levels. Caregivers are encouraged to participate alongside their children.  Recommended for children ages 3–10\, but all are welcome. DESCRIPTION:Spring is here!  Let’s spring into gear with a kid-friendly hike… \nJoin us for an easy/moderate hike\, along the Houston Meadow Trail\, which will get the heart pumping\, as well as kiddos moving\, giving a feeling of energy\, warmth\, and activity.  If that doesn’t work for getting warmed-up\, the hike ends at an awesome playground site\, where kids can be active and run about like it’s a hot summer day. \nTo Be Clear: The hike start is NOT where the hike ends\, though we will only be about a 10-minute sidewalk/paved walk from where the hike ends. \nTRAIL/HIKE DETAILS\nThis is an easy/slightly moderate hike along varied dirt\, rock\, grassy\, and gravel terrain. There are some slopes and inclines. It is NOT stroller-friendly and takes at least 30-50 minutes to complete. SUMMARY:Early Spring Meanderings - Around the Farm
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a relatively quick and easy hike along the Farm side of Awbury Arboretum’s grounds\, as well as for some fun activities.  We’ll meander along the trail\, where we’ll explore and seek out items that are listed on our kid-friendly scavenger hunt sheets. Once we’re done\, we can play a fun round (or two) of Simon Says and/or BINGO\, as well as get creative with a craft activity for kids to color/decorate.  Throughout the program\, participants might be able to view the goats\, chickens\, pollinator gardens\, beekeeper hives\, and trails\, on their own\, allowing time to enjoy at your leisure. DESCRIPTION:Join us for a family-friendly walk and nature scavenger hunt in FDR Park! Take a slow stroll around the lake\, say hello to the winter wildlife\, and play some winter games. \nThis walk will be 1.5 miles\, about a half hour walk on a flat\, paved path. The path is stroller-friendly\, however be prepared for snow\, cracked pavement\, leaves and rocks. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Restrooms are available near the meeting location. \nBe prepared for the weather and wet surfaces with proper shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. \nRegistrants will be emailed exact location details in the days leading up to the outing. \nTransportation:\nParking is available onsite; this location is also public transit accessible via the Broad Street Line or several buses.

SUMMARY:Warm-Up Meadow Hike (Kid-Friendly/Playground)
DESCRIPTION:It’s time to warm-up\, as the temperatures have dropped and winter is upon us!  \nJoin us for an easy/moderate hike\, along the Houston Meadow Trail\, which will get the heart pumping\, as well as kiddos moving\, giving a feeling of energy\, warmth\, and activity.  If that doesn’t work for getting warmed-up\, the hike ends at an awesome playground site\, where kids can be active and run about like it’s a hot summer day.  Keep in mind that we will be outdoors the entire time\, as there is no indoor center open at the time we are on-site. \nTo Be Clear: The hike start is NOT where the hike ends\, though we will only be about a 10-minute sidewalk/paved walk from where the hike ends. \nTRAIL/HIKE DETAILS\nThis is an easy/slightly moderate hike along varied dirt\, rock\, grassy\, and gravel terrain. There are some slopes and inclines. It is NOT stroller-friendly and takes at least 30-50 minutes to complete. There are NO bathroom facilities\, so plan accordingly.  This is NOT a stroller-accessible trail and does involve walking up/down hills and traveling on varied terrain – soil\, mulch\, grass\, pavement\, etc. \nREGISTRATION:  Strongly suggested\, since registering allows us to share last-minute cancelation and/or change in programming details with you.  Should you have any issues registering\, please contact us at 866-878-3595. \nSTART TIME(S):  The hike will start promptly at 11AM (We cannot guarantee waiting for late-comers. SUMMARY:Winter Fun Meanderings - Around the Farm
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a relatively quick and easy hike along the Farm side of Awbury Arboretum’s grounds\, as well as for some fun activities.  We’ll meander along the trail\, where we’ll explore and seek out items that are listed on our kid-friendly scavenger hunt sheets. Once we’re done\, we can play a winterly fun round (or two) of Simon Says and/or BINGO\, as well as get creative with a winter craft activity for kids to color/decorate.  Throughout the program\, participants might be able to view the goats\, chickens\, pollinator gardens\, beekeeper hives\, and trails\, on their own\, allowing time to enjoy at your leisure.
