CANCELED – Meadow Hike to Playground/Sprayground Site

Due to minimum number of registrations not being met, we have canceled this session.

Summer is here… time for a hike!

Join us for an easy/moderate hike, along the Houston Meadow Trail, which will get the heart pumping, as well as kiddos moving, giving a feeling of energy, warmth, and activity.  If that doesn’t work for getting warmed-up, the hike ends at an awesome playground site, where kids can be active and run about like it’s a hot summer day. 

ALSO, if it is hot out, there’s a sprayground at the Houston Rec Center, where the hike ends, which can help kiddos, and adults too, cool down.  (NOTE: Sprayground water turn-on is done by the City of Philadelphia, and/or the Rec Center, so we can’t guarantee whether it will be on or not, but it’s likely to be on, based on this time of year.)

To Be Clear: The hike start is NOT where the hike ends, though we will only be about a 10-minute sidewalk/paved walk from where the hike ends.

TRAIL/HIKE DETAILS
This is an easy/slightly moderate hike along varied dirt, rock, grassy, and gravel terrain. There are some slopes and inclines. It is NOT stroller-friendly and takes at least 30-50 minutes to complete. There are NO bathroom facilities, so plan accordingly.  This is NOT a stroller-accessible trail and does involve walking up/down hills and traveling on varied terrain – soil, mulch, grass, pavement, etc.

MEETING ADDRESS:  991 East Cathedral Rd., Philadelphia, PA (This is NOT a building, but a tree lined street – trailhead starting point.)

START TIME(S):  The hike will start promptly at 11AM (We cannot guarantee waiting for late-comers.
