Kid Nature Stroll to Nature Playground

Enjoy an easy nature stroll, along the Cobbs Creek trail, where you’ll enjoy lovely views of the creek as you walk.  Plus, during this stroll we visit the Cobbs Creek Nature Playground.

TRAIL/HIKE DETAILS
This is an easy, mostly flat, nature walk along varied dirt, rock, grass, and/or gravel terrain. There is a paved short downhill and uphill walk.  It is SOMEWHAT stroller friendly and we’ll walk about 20-30 minutes. We start at the Cobbs Creek Rec Center, travel the trail to the Environmental Center and up to the Nature Playground.  As we walk along the trail, we share fun environmental tips, knowledge, etc., with possibility for birding, tree id, and exploration.  IF the rec center is open, there is bathroom access, though we cannot guarantee if it will be open, so plan accordingly.

START TIME(S): The stroll will start promptly at the following times: 10AM and 11:30AM (We will NOT wait for late-comers. If you arrive early and don’t see our Educator, please wait near the Cobbs Creek Rec Center entry doorway or where you see our organization yard signs.)

MEETING LOCATION: Cobbs Creek Recreation Center, 280 Cobbs Creek Parkway, Philadelphia, PA 19139 (There is only street parking, so plan accordingly.)  This nature stroll finishes at the Cobbs Creek Nature Playground, where you’re welcome to stay, play, and enjoy OR at an allotted time by Educator, you’re welcome to travel back to the Rec Center with them along the path.

REQUIREMENTS/SUGGESTIONS
Closed toed shoes that can get dirty.
Appropriate attire for the weather – layers are strongly recommended in cooler seasons.
An adult, aged 18 years or older, MUST remain and participate in the program with their child(ren). Those under 18 cannot be dropped off.
We meet at the Rec Center, which might not be open, so bathrooms might not be accessible.
